No. Flat Martians are a digital art collection that leverages blockchain technology in order to provide proof of digital ownership. Speculating in the NFT space can be risky and purchasing with the intent to trade with the expectation of profit would be at your own risk.

Introduction

The NFT and Web3 space is a fun, exciting place with an endless abundance of opportunity. It is also a speculative, volatile, ever-changing landscape that is fiercely competitive and full of unknown obstacles!

To package all our ideas into a quantifiable roadmap in the name of selling our NFT collection quickly would be both irresponsible and irrational. To cater for flexibility and volatility we have devised our roadmap in two sections: deliverable and speculative.

Deliverable Roadmap

Deliverables are to be expected from the Flat Mars team. They cater to our strengths and can be completed in-house without outsourcing work.

Artwork

Our primary dedication to the Flat Mars project has been the artwork which we have produced over the past 10 months. All artwork is original and no 3D asset packs were used in the development of the collection.

The Flat Martian collection explores generative art beyond simple layering to deliver detailed, diverse and unique artwork that includes multiple poses and base models. Our design approach to the collection involved interacting with the community and producing traits that embodied the Cardano culture.

Mint

Flat Martians (Flatties) are unleashed to the world! Our mint is inclusive and accessible; you won't need to grind our discord or put in time to mint our project!

Expand IP Rights

A lot of hours have gone into the Flat Martian collection and we want to deliver that value directly to our community, so initially it is important to protect our collection from malicious actors who frequently duplicate collections on multiple chains.

As a value add, we would like to expand our IP rights under professional direction so holders have freedom to utilize both the artwork and the additional content we produce on the Flat Mars platform.

For example, holders should be able to produce digital or physical collectibles of their NFT or have access to our Cardano educational content to bolster their YouTube channels and social media posts without attribution.

Flat Mars Limited, Not Flat Mars Unlimited!

NFT projects have to keep their name in the spotlight to survive. The typical route is to engage in multiple drops that recreate hype. For smaller projects, this added value is often short lived and can dilute the project long term.

Flat Martians will be limited to the original sale. Any expansion would involve the consensus of the holders and require a significant value add or large partnership. To keep consistent presence in the ecosystem our focus will be on brand development and content creation.

Brand Development

The Flat Mars brand began as a parody of the toxicity and tribalism that is prominent in the crypto space. The ability of maximalists to neglect data and turn a blind eye to research and development can only be rivalled by contentious Flat Earthers! Our vision is to build our fun and paradoxical brand into a content creation platform: a source of reliable Cardano news and educational content surrounding blockchain technology.

We believe this will be a great value add to the Cardano network, helping to onboard new users and building trust within the community. This keeps our Flat Mars brand in the spotlight without the need to dilute our original work with multiple drops.

Content Creation

Although there is already a reasonable amount of Cardano content, it tends to be long form and less beginner friendly. Our niche will be to target the consumer level in bit-sized, simplified demonstrations that can be easily shared across social media. This is a perfect fit for our team of Cardano enthusiasts who work in digital design and blockchain marketing.

It is intended that all infographics, videos and digital content we produce will be available for Flat Martian holders to utilise without attribution.

Collaborations

Collaborations are a great way to market our product and showcase our skills within the Cardano community. Any collaborative work will be produced in small quantities outside of the original policy ID and will be available to our communities through events and airdrops.

We look forward to experimenting with 3D rigging and developing a few protype Martians that can be exported into multiple media formats. This will serve as a steppingstone for our speculative roadmap.

Speculative Roadmap

For all intent and purposes, the original Flat Martian NFT sale is to purchase a piece of artwork from the Flat Martian collection. We utilize the Cardano Network to provide proof of ownership of our digital product and to allow access to NFT markets. This his is *not* an investment token, nor does it represent equity in the Flat Mars brand.

Any further utility beyond the deliverable roadmap is not guaranteed and is reflected in our mint price. The speculative roadmap is generated from community ideas and remains flexible and subject to change.

Speculative

I could tell you your Flat Martian NFT will be your entry ticket to a metaverse of abundance, that it could be transacted as currency with your tuk tuk driver on the extremities of SE Asia and that if you stake it on a particular platform it will sh*t gold nuggets for months, but that would incredibly presumptuous and dishonest!

We love the idea of a (the) metaverse and 3d avatars, but it is incredibly early times in an extremely volatile space. Personally, we are *not* building a (the) metaverse as that would require an enormous amount of capital…

But perhaps we could invade one, once they have finished?

Virtual Community Spaces

If the Flatties become popular it would be awesome to develop some virtual community spaces for the FML community to communicate, collaborate and host events. It would also be a great opportunity to show off some of our architectural skills!

At the present time, Cornucopias Custom Domes seem the most fitting for our project and we have acquired an Epic Custom Dome in advance. We have also acquired multiple plots in similar metaverse and social projects in the Cardano ecosystem and will continue to monitor their development and seek opportunities in that space. The fact that they have all ‘flat-earthed’ their projects is definitely a plus for our Flat Mars brand!
